Accessibility Statement

The Alma Mater Europaea University is committed to ensuring accessibility in accordance with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications and EU Directive 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and Council. This accessibility statement applies to the website https://www.almamater.si/.

Compliance Level
The Alma Mater Europaea University website is written in HTML5 and uses CSS3 style sheets for web page design. The jQuery JavaScript library is used for interactions and certain functionalities. The operation and appearance of the web pages have been tested in all popular older and newer browsers as well as on various devices and operating systems.

The Alma Mater Europaea University website is prepared in accordance with international web content accessibility guidelines and complies with the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.0 standard. The compliance level corresponds to AA.

Additional assistance in the form of hints for input fields, buttons, and links is intended for less experienced web users.

Accessibility Features
Part of the website is a special tool that enables additional accessibility functions of the website. It appears when clicking on the accessibility icon in the lower right corner. The user is enabled to:
 easier navigation with keyboard keys,
use a larger mouse pointer, in white or black color,
 increase color contrast,
 display colors in grayscale,
 dark mode white on black,
use a standard font more suitable for people with dyslexia,
 larger font size; bold font,
highlighted links; headings with capital letters.

Visitors are further facilitated by keyboard shortcuts:
display accessibility options (Ctrl + U),
display website index (Ctrl + Alt + K),
return to the homepage (Ctrl + Alt + D),
return to the homepage (Ctrl + Alt + D),
 close popup window (Esc),
move focus to the next element (Tab),
move focus to the previous element (Shift + Tab),
 click focused element (Enter)
 check/uncheck checkbox (Space).

Exceptions
The website contains PDF documents that may be inaccessible or partially accessible to some people. Upon request, we will send you inaccessible documents.

Possible Improvements
The website uses the JavaScript scripting language for normal operation, better overall user experience, and greater security. Without proper browser support, navigation is difficult and the display and submission of web forms in pop-ups do not work.

If CSS style sheets are not supported in the browser, all information can still be accessed, but some content may be duplicated or redundant. Additional texts intended for display on screens of different sizes or shown upon certain actions are included in the website code.

Independence from JavaScript and CSS templates would mean a major change in the design and operation of the website.

Many WCAG and WAI-ARIA guidelines for improving website accessibility can be interpreted subjectively. Interpretations may also change over time.

Feedback and Contact Information
We want to make the website as accessible as possible to users. If you have difficulties accessing any content or information on this website or if you have feedback or suggestions for improvements, please notify us at info@almamater.si or by phone at +386 2 250 19 99.
