The Research Center for Humanities brings together researchers from various fields of the humanities to conduct research and apply modern methods and techniques. Special emphasis is placed on research in contemporary philosophy, religious studies with theology, digital humanities, environmental and medical humanities, archaeology, and educational policies.
Since 2021, it has been part of the Alma Mater Europaea consortium together with the Scientific Research Center Koper (Institute for Philosophical Studies) and foreign partners. The center creates a space for interdisciplinary scientific work at the intersection of philosophy, digital humanities, archaeology, and educational sciences.
The research supports the development of new and rapidly growing fields within the humanities, such as digital, environmental, and medical humanities. It also continues the tradition of studying art and aesthetics, with a future focus on film studies, which are not yet strongly represented in the Slovenian area.
