Alma Mater Europaea University has once again been selected to deliver the Directors’ School – training under the programme for managing a social care institution. The selection represents an important recognition of the quality of our work and confirms that Alma Mater remains a bearer of professional excellence in the field of educating leadership staff in social care.
A program that sets leadership standards in social care
The Directors’ School is intended for directors of social care institutions and other interested participants who wish to upgrade their leadership knowledge and deepen their understanding of how institutions operate in today’s modern, demanding environment. The program enables participants to acquire comprehensive knowledge, skills, and competencies that they can directly integrate into their everyday work as well as the strategic management of organizations.
A comprehensive, practice-oriented, and development-focused program
The training is carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Social Chamber of Slovenia and consists of eight educational modules. The program is delivered through eight two-day or six three-day sessions, enabling an in-depth treatment of the topics and active exchange of experiences among participants.
The content is divided into key areas:
- Core content
- Health and social care
- Organizing
- Leadership
- Services
- Operations
- Innovation
- Digitalization
- Project assignment
A special added value of the program is its strong practical component. After the modules are completed, consultations with lecturers follow, along with independent work on the project assignment. Participants connect and apply the acquired content when addressing a specific challenge in their institution—whether a current problem, a development opportunity, an innovation, or an organizational change. The program concludes with a public presentation and defense of the project assignment in front of the group of participants and lecturers, which further strengthens leadership and communication competencies.
Top lecturers and strong professional support
The program is delivered by habilitated faculty members of Alma Mater Europaea University with top-level expertise in management, human resources, social care, healthcare, informatics, and other disciplines key to the successful operation and future development of social care institutions.
The Head of the program is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barbara Toplak Perovič, a recognized expert with extensive academic and practical experience.
In delivering the program, we also include respected domestic experts with direct experience in managing social care institutions, as well as experts from ministries and other relevant institutions. In this way, we ensure that the program remains up to date, professionally in-depth, and closely connected to the system’s real challenges.
Many directors across Slovenia who have already successfully completed the program today make an important contribution to the development of social care through their knowledge and competent leadership. Their successes are the strongest proof that the Directors’ School at Alma Mater Europaea is not just education—it is an investment in the high-quality future of leadership.
