At the Rectorate of the University of Ljubljana, a press conference was held on August 19, 2025, where the members of the Rectors' Conference of the Republic of Slovenia presented the joint project UNI-SI – Festival of Slovenian Universities. The festival will, for the first time, unite all eight Slovenian universities on January 16 and 17, 2026, at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre.
The event, which will now take place every January just before the information days, will offer high school students a comprehensive insight into study opportunities at: University of Ljubljana, University of Maribor, University of Primorska, University of Nova Gorica, University of Novo mesto, New University, Alma Mater Europaea University and EMUNI – Euro-Mediterranean University.
Festival UNI-SI will be the first to enable a unified presentation of universities, designed by content areas (social sciences, natural sciences, humanities, engineering and technology, medicine, biotechnology and art). Each area will be visually marked with a color, which will make orientation easier for visitors. In the coming years, the festival is expected to expand to include doctoral studies and English presentations aimed at foreign students and researchers. The project is also supported by the relevant ministry.
This year, coordination is led by University of Primorska in cooperation with University of Nova Gorica.
