ESBS Summer School of Sports Management in Valencia

ESBS Summer School of Sports Management in Valencia

5. 2. 2026

Alma Mater Europaea University invites students to participate in the ESBS Professional Summer Experience, an intensive international summer school in the field of sports management, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

The program will take place in Valencia (Spain) from 31 May to 6 June 2026.

The summer school offers a unique opportunity to gain practical skills, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and connect in an international academic and sports-business environment.

What does the program offer?

The program is designed as a 5-day hands-on experience that includes:

  • workshops and lectures by experts from the sports industry,
  • analysis of real-life case studies from the European and North American sports environment,
  • teamwork on developing your own sports-business idea and pitching to mentors,
  • visits to sports and innovation institutions (including the Mestalla stadium),
  • sports and cultural activities in one of Europe’s most dynamic sports cities.

A special emphasis of the program is placed on developing an entrepreneurial mindset, identifying opportunities in dynamic markets, designing sustainable business models, and understanding key revenue streams in the sports industry.

Who is the summer school intended for?

The program is primarily intended for management and physiotherapy students, especially those interested in sports management, sports marketing, innovation, leadership, and international cooperation in sport.

Participation and recognition of obligations

Based on the very successful implementation of the summer school in Valencia in July 2025, Alma Mater Europaea University has accredited a new elective course Sports Management (6 ECTS).
Alma Mater University students will, upon successfully completing the summer school requirements, have the elective course (6 ECTS) recognized as completed. If elective courses for the current academic year have already been chosen, the course can be transferred to the next academic year; for this purpose, an additional exam date will be scheduled in October 2026.

Price and funding

The summer school fee is EUR 1,150 and includes full board from Sunday to Saturday as well as all excursions and activities within the program.
Part of the fee will be covered by an Erasmus+ scholarship in the amount of between EUR 860 and 960. All selected participants who enroll in the elective course Sports Management are eligible for the scholarship.

Who can apply?

Applications are open to Alma Mater University students in the following study programs:

  • FTH (VS – all programs and languages),
  • MPS (VS),
  • MPS (MAG).

Erasmus+ scholarships will be distributed in a balanced way among the individual groups with the aim of the broadest possible inclusion and comparable representation of study programs.

Application and selection of candidates

Candidates submit the application form together with a CV and a motivation letter in English. In the motivation letter, they should present their motivation and the connection to the summer school content (e.g., sport, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, event organization, communication, teamwork, volunteering, projects, etc.).

In the event of a larger number of applications, we will take into account:

  • the quality of the motivation and its alignment with the summer school content,
  • priority will be given to students in higher or final years, while maintaining opportunities for younger years with clearly expressed motivation,
  • additional priority will be given to students who attended the Erasmus+ brunch (information day) in Ljubljana or Maribor in December 2025.
APPLICATION

Apply by 15 February 2026.

Information Day

An online information day will be organized in the first week of March 2026, where the program, the application process, the course schedule, and the funding of the summer school will be presented in more detail.
