Do you have ideas on how to improve long-term care? Seize the opportunity and become part of the research project!
Alma Mater Europaea University invites everyone who wishes to contribute their knowledge, experience, and perspectives to the development of more connected, accessible, and higher-quality care for older adults.
About the project
Alma Mater Europaea University is implementing the citizen science project "Co-creation of Social Infrastructure for the Integration of Health Services and Long-Term Care Services".
The project is intended to improve the integration of health, social, and support services and to develop higher-quality long-term care for older adults.
Its special feature is the citizen science approach, which actively includes, alongside researchers, individuals with diverse professional and life experiences in the research process.
Our shared goal is to connect knowledge, experience, and different perspectives and to formulate proposals for improvements that respond to the actual needs of older adults and their relatives.
Who are we inviting to participate?
The public call is intended for five stakeholder groups:
-
Students in undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes who are interested in research, healthcare, social care, and long-term care.
-
Healthcare professionals who encounter the needs of older adults in their work.
-
Social care workers who participate in providing care and support.
-
Long-term care users who receive care at home or in an institutional setting and wish to share their experiences.
-
Informal caregivers (relatives) who care for family members or loved ones who need long-term care.
How can you participate?
Within the project, various activities are planned in which participants will be able to take an active part:
-
Introductory training sessions where they will become familiar with the project and the citizen science approach.
-
Workshops and group discussions for exchanging knowledge, experience, and different perspectives.
-
Research activities aimed at identifying needs and challenges in the field of long-term care.
-
Co-creating proposals for improvements that will be based on the actual experiences of users, relatives, and professionals.
Introductory training sessions
Before the start of the research activities, a several-hour introductory training session, tailored to its needs, will be organised for each of the five groups.
Planned training dates:
| Group | Date |
|---|---|
| Students | 6 November 2026 |
| Healthcare professionals | 9 November 2026 |
| Social care workers | 10 November 2026 |
| Long-term care users | 12 November 2026 |
| Informal caregivers (relatives) | 13 November 2026 |
*More detailed information about the programme, location, and format of the training sessions will be provided to registered participants at a later date.
Why get involved?
By participating in the project, you will have the opportunity to:
-
Share your experiences and needs and draw attention to the challenges of long-term care.
-
Gain new knowledge and practical experience through training sessions and research activities.
-
Connect and exchange perspectives with professionals, students, users, and relatives.
-
Co-create proposals for improvements that will take into account the needs of people who receive or provide care.
-
Contribute to more connected and higher-quality care and to improving the quality of life of older adults.
Every experience counts. To develop better long-term care, we need both professional expertise and the voices of people who need care or provide it every day.
