At Tišina Primary School, we held educational workshops last week as part of the Artificial Intelligence for Youth program.
The workshops were conducted by Assist. Prof. Polonca Serrano, PhD, and their purpose was to bring the world of digital technologies closer to young people and equip them with the knowledge and skills for the safe, responsible, and creative use of modern digital tools.
Through engaging and interactive activities, the students learned about:
- how to browse, search for, and filter data, information, and digital content effectively,
- the importance of online safety and ways to protect personal data,
- what artificial intelligence is and where we encounter it in everyday life,
- how machines learn and how artificial intelligence makes decisions,
- the importance of online etiquette and responsible communication in the digital environment.
Young people explore the world of artificial intelligence and the safe use of technology
Special emphasis was placed on understanding artificial intelligence in a way that is friendly to young people – through practical examples, discussion, and collaborative tasks. The students participated actively, asked questions, and reflected on how technology affects our lives, learning, and future.
The Artificial Intelligence for Youth program encourages the development of digital competencies, critical thinking, and the safe use of technology, which are now an important part of modern education.
The workshops will continue during the month of May.
