Student Maks proves that it is possible to push boundaries

Some stories go beyond academic success, awards, and achievements. They are stories of perseverance, courage, and an unwavering will to live.

One such story is that of our student Maks Lenart Černelč, which was also recently presented by the weekly Družina in an interview titled I Live Life to the Full.

Maks Lenart Černelč is one of the most successful young intellectuals of his generation. As the top golden graduate of the Diocesan Classical Gymnasium, he achieved exceptional success in his school-leaving exams, and already during his secondary school years he participated in international scientific conferences, published professional papers, and received numerous awards at home and abroad.

His journey is all the more remarkable because he has achieved all these accomplishments despite being diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy type 1. Due to his health condition, he has been schooled mostly from home for many years, and today he studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Maribor and at the ISH Faculty of the Alma Mater Europaea University.

What particularly distinguishes Maks is not only his exceptional academic excellence, but also his outlook on life. Despite numerous challenges, he remains focused on the future, research, and creating new opportunities. In the interview, he emphasizes his enthusiasm for science, artificial intelligence, and robotics, in which he sees important potential for the development of a more humane society.

At Alma Mater, we are proud that he is part of our academic community. His story reminds us that excellence is not merely the result of talent or circumstances, but above all of perseverance, curiosity, and the courage to pursue our goals even when they seem unattainable.

Maks Lenart Černelč is proof that limitations do not define a person's possibilities. They are defined by vision, dedication, and the decision to live life to the full.
