In the spirit of strengthening dialogue, cooperation, and a shared commitment to peace, a ceremonial online signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place between International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue (ICIID) and Global Peace Offensive Center (GPOC).
The memorandum establishes a framework for long-term cooperation in the fields of interfaith, intercultural, and intergenerational dialogue, and promotes the development of joint educational, research, and socially engaged activities. The partnership will contribute to strengthening a culture of peace and seeking common solutions to contemporary global challenges.
The importance of dialogue in a time of global challenges
On this occasion, the rector of Alma Mater Europaea University, Prof. Dr. Ludvik Toplak, who is also the director of the Global Peace Offensive Center, emphasized the importance of such connections: »This is an important commitment – a commitment to joint action for peace, dialogue, and mutual understanding.« In his address, he pointed out that today’s world requires more cooperation and openness: »We live in a time when the world is more connected, yet at the same time more divided. In such circumstances, dialogue is not a choice – it is a necessity.« He also emphasized the broader significance of the signed memorandum: »This agreement reflects our mission and our responsibility to actively contribute to a more peaceful world.«
A framework for long-term cooperation
In addition to the signatories – Prof. Dr. Ludvik Toplak and the director of ICIID, Gulsana Kozhabayeva – the event was also attended by the president of the Global Peace Offensive Center, Donato Kiniger Passigli, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Slovenia, Altay Abibullayev. Their presence further confirms the importance of international support and cooperation in strengthening dialogue between institutions.
Rector Dr. Toplak also thanked the partners for their support: »I sincerely thank the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Slovenia for their strong support and commitment to building bridges of dialogue and cooperation.«
