How are algorithms, biometric systems, and artificial intelligence transforming state border control? And what consequences do these technologies have for the lives of migrants?
The ISH Faculty of Alma Mater Europaea University invites you to an online guest lecture by Prof. Dr. Om Prakash Dwivedi, an external professor at Alma Mater, which will take place on Friday, 30 October 2026, at 3:00 PM.
In the lecture entitled “From Necropolitics to Techno-Necrocracy: Migrant Disposability in the Age of Coded Borders”, he will present how contemporary technologies are transforming border control and affecting the lives of migrants.
Using examples of biometric data, algorithms, and digital surveillance systems, he will explore how technology can deepen discrimination and social inequalities, while raising new questions about human rights and responsibility.
The lecture is part of the international series Human Futures: Dialogues on Technology, World, and Meaning, organized by the ISH Faculty of Alma Mater Europaea University. The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Lenart Škof.
