Nursing
Hybrid lectures
The study process in the undergraduate Nursing study program at Alma Mater is carried out in a hybrid format, which means that students can attend lectures on-site (Maribor and Murska Sobota) or online via the Zoom application.
Lectures take place in the afternoon, between 16:00 and 20:00. All lectures are recorded, and the recordings will be available to all Alma Mater students via Moodle e-classrooms and remain published for the entire year. In the event that students attend lectures online, they must submit a lecture summary to their Moodle online classrooms within six days in order to ensure 100% attendance at lectures.
Seminar and laboratory exercises
Attendance at exercises is mandatory (100%) and is a condition for taking the exam. As a rule, exercises are conducted on-site in the afternoon between 16:00 and 20:00 (full-time students also in the morning) during the week and on Saturdays between 9:00 and 13:00, unless otherwise determined with the course instructor. Exercises are not recorded and cannot be attended online.
Clinical training
Clinical training is carried out in all three years of study, in a total volume of 2,300 hours, which students complete in various healthcare and social care institutions throughout Slovenia. The faculty organizes the clinical training, and the student may choose the institution and the time period for completion. As a rule, it takes place in the morning and afternoon. For students who are already employed in the field of nursing, partial recognition of clinical training is also possible.
Exam dates
Courses generally follow one after another, which means that the first exam date is immediately after the lectures and completed exercises, and there is no need to wait for the exam period. As a rule, four exam dates are announced for each course. Exams are taken on Alma Mater premises or online, depending on the course, generally at 15:00, but they may also be at 14:00.
Study obligations
Study obligations are generally carried out 4 to 5 times a week in blocks of 3 to 5 school hours.
