Web and Information Technologies
Lectures
The study process in the undergraduate study program Web and Information Technologies at Alma Mater is conducted online, which means that students can follow the lectures via the Zoom application.
Lectures take place in the afternoon, between 16:00 and 20:00. All lectures are recorded, and the recordings will be available to all Alma Mater students through e-classrooms on Moodle and remain posted throughout the year. In case students follow the lectures online, they must submit a summary of the lectures to their online classrooms on Moodle within six days to ensure 100% attendance at the lectures.
Exercises
Attendance at exercises is mandatory (100%) and is a condition for taking the exam. Exercises are usually conducted online in the afternoon between 16:00 and 20:15 during the week and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 13:15, unless otherwise specified by the course instructor.
Exam periods
Courses generally follow one after another, which means that the first exam period is immediately after the lectures and completed exercises, and there is no need to wait for the exam session. Usually, four exam periods are scheduled for each course. Exams are taken online, usually at 16:00.
Practical Training
Practical training is a key component of the study program, as it enables students to apply their knowledge in a real working environment. It is carried out within the courses Project 1 and Project 2, where students collaborate with selected companies and organizations and, under the guidance of mentors, gain valuable experience in the field of information technology.
During the training, students participate in real-world projects, build upon their theoretical knowledge, and develop the competencies needed for a successful career. The practical training is conducted in cooperation with both a faculty mentor and a company mentor. Students perform assigned tasks independently, prepare a project report and timeline, and present their work.
The choice of company is flexible – students can find one on their own or select from a list of partner organizations. The practical training is awarded ECTS credits and represents an important step in the student’s professional development.
