Ayurveda – ancient wisdom for modern living
Ayurveda, the traditional Indian medicine with a thousand-year history, is today internationally recognized as an effective, holistic health system. Its presence at numerous prestigious higher education institutions worldwide provides both healthcare professionals and individuals seeking natural approaches to health access to knowledge based on harmony with nature and its cycles.
Ayurveda is not alternative but complementary and scientifically grounded medicine, also supported by the World Health Organization (WHO). Its integration into modern practice does not mean abandoning Western medicine but offers an opportunity to combine the best elements of both approaches – for better health, greater inner harmony, and a higher quality of life.
Knowledge of both Western and Ayurvedic medicine allows us in today's stress-filled world to help ourselves by combining the best elements of both approaches, aligning with nature, and improving our health.
Alma Mater Europaea is pleased to present a new master's study program in Ayurveda, which has began in October 2024 and is continuing each study year in October. It is a two-year accredited study (120 ECTS) designed according to modern pedagogical standards and focused on an in-depth understanding of Ayurvedic medicine as a holistic, scientifically based health system.
The program is intended for graduates of health and related study fields who wish to enhance their knowledge with methods of traditional Indian medicine and apply them in a modern healthcare environment. Enrollment requires completed first-level higher education and knowledge of the English language. For candidates who do not meet all the direct enrollment requirements, attendance of courses will be enabled to align them with the academic demands of the program.

How is it possible to live without stress, in joy and a state of personal fulfillment?
Higher Lecturer Mag. Tomaz Klojcnik explains what makes a good meditation and why Transcendental Meditation is practiced all over the world:
Regular practice of Transcendental meditation allows peace to remain with us even in the active parts of our lives. This helps us experience life more fully, reduces tension, and prepares us for a fulfilled and joyful life. The Transcendental meditation technique is practiced twice daily for 10 to 20 minutes.
With the help of Transcendental meditation, we achieve peace and concentration, as confirmed by numerous studies.
The technique influences the level of consciousness and expands our awareness. Within this expanded awareness, we can recognize moments of worry or tension and replace them with a calm and focused approach in the present. By being present in the moment, we are better able to manage the challenges and tasks that come our way.
