Mode of Study and Course Flow (MA)

Social Gerontology

Hybrid Lectures

The study process in the master's study program Social Gerontology at Alma Mater is conducted in a hybrid manner, which means that students can attend lectures in Maribor or online via the Zoom application.

Lectures take place in the afternoon, between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. All lectures are recorded, and the recordings will be available to all Alma Mater students through e-classrooms on Moodle and remain posted for the entire year. If students attend lectures online, they must submit a summary of the lectures to their online classrooms on Moodle within six days to ensure 100% attendance at the lectures.

Exercises

Attendance at exercises is mandatory (100%) and is a condition for taking the exam. Exercises are usually held on-site in the afternoon between 4:00 PM and 8:15 PM during the week and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:15 PM, unless otherwise specified by the course instructor. Exercises are not recorded and cannot be attended online.

Exam Periods

Courses generally follow one after another, which means that the first exam period is immediately after the lectures and completed exercises, and there is no need to wait for the exam session. Usually, four exam periods are announced for each course. Exams are held at Alma Mater premises or online depending on the course, usually at 4:00 PM.

Study Obligations

Study obligations are generally conducted 1 to 2 times a week in blocks of 3 to 5 school hours.
