Alma Mater University organized a special event Walk for Health on Slovenian Sports Day, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle.
Physiotherapy student and longtime personal and fitness trainer Lucijan Cigale first led a guided warm-up at the Promenade of the City Park.
"Before starting exercise, it is crucial to warm up the body to reduce the risk of injury and improve performance. We can begin with a light jog in place, then continue with dynamic stretching exercises such as arm circles and torso twists to warm up the muscles and joints," he explained.
He also emphasized the importance of establishing regular exercise in daily life: "Movement should become a constant part of our day, as it has numerous positive effects on our physical and mental health. Regular physical activity helps prevent chronic diseases, improves well-being, and contributes to better management of everyday stress. With a movement routine, we not only improve physical performance but also the quality of life."
The goal of the event was to encourage a healthy lifestyle in pleasant company outdoors, which was more than achieved.
"Besides doing something good for our bodies, we treated ourselves to juicy apples, and at the top of the Pyramid, participants were also greeted with healthy chocolate bars," Lucijan concluded.
